Hello! This a new venture for me, and hopefully, it will be a successful one. I do intend to drone on and on about myself, but I want to let you know about me, my intention for adding yet another blog to the ridiculous amount of blogs that already exist in this massive network, the internet. I don't intend to bore you, or sell you anything. I just intend to share. My stories, my experiences, my trials, and triumphs. I know everyone has their own burdens and trials to bear and if me shedding light on mine brings some hope, light, and maybe a little laugh, I do believe that it will be worth it.
I am an artist. Aspiring in a few arenas, but mostly successful as a theater actress, even though my training is in film. I love the theater. It has such a freedom and life of it's own. It's so much more magical than anything I have ever experienced, and it combines so many art forms into one entity. It is great, and majestic, and I love it all! I try to sing, I don't normally trip over my own feet when I dance, and speaking in front of people is exhilarating to me, not terrifying. I guess you could say that I am built and meant for this life of the theater.
But as many artists in New York City, I have other interests, and am forced to spread my time between theater projects and real life. One of the many things that I love to do is travel. I grew up doing it. We moved ever three years or so. (Curse of the Military brat.) And I got to see most of the United States because of it. At last count I had hit 40 of the 50, with Hawaii being the lone state west of the Mississippi River that I have yet to see. (I'll get there, don't worry!) But since I have been road-tripping my entire life across country, it makes sense that I would want to go abroad for an adventure or two. And being in New York City, I am perfectly poised to travel the world. After all the Big Apple is the crossroads to the world, and the only thing that I need to do is buy a ticket, hop a plane, and trust that my next adventure will be inspiring!
I got to do that very thing in March 2015. I went to Italy, and Barcelona and loved every minute of it. I ran out of money, got more money, and ate & drank my way through the gorgeous cities I visited. There are photo albums on my "Moments in a Snap" page. Make sure to check those out!
So what kind of blog is this going to be? I have no idea. It sounds like it's going to be a travel blog, or an artists blog, but I don't believe that I want to limit myself. Yes I will write about traveling, the wonders and woes of it all. I will write about being artist and trials of triumphs that this road gives those lucky few. But mostly I will write about being me, and my journey of being on the verge of something great! Because being on the edge, staring into the abyss of possibility, is where the magic happens. Care to join me?
